Privacy
This page explains what happens to your information when you use this site or one of the practice tools on it. In short: nothing is collected about you, no cookies are set, and nothing is passed to anyone for advertising or profiling.
Who is responsible
This site is run by Phil Godfrey, trading as PH Capability — an independent public health adviser and a sole trader, not a company. For data protection purposes I am the data controller for anything this site handles.
Contact: [email protected].
What is stored on your device
The practice tools need to remember one thing while you use them: the confidence rating you give at the start, so that the before-and-after comparison at the end means something. That value is saved in your own browser's local storage under the key mecc-conf0.
It stays in your browser. It is not sent to me, not sent anywhere else, and not linked to you. Nothing else is stored.
There are no cookies on this site, so there is no cookie banner, and nothing needs one. To remove the stored value, clear site data for phcapability.co.uk in your browser settings, or open the tool in a private window.
Visits are counted, without identifying anyone
I use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see how many people visit and which pages are useful. It is designed to work without cookies and without fingerprinting, and it does not build a profile of you or follow you to other sites. It records aggregate things — a page view, roughly where in the world the request came from, the referring site, and basic device and browser type. It does not store your IP address in a form that identifies you.
No advertising pixels, no tracking scripts, no social media trackers, and no data sold or shared for marketing. That is the point of running it this way.
Cloudflare acts as my processor for this. Its own privacy documentation explains what it does with the request data: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
If you email me
There is no contact form on this site — the links open your own email app. If you email me, I receive your address and whatever you write, and I use it to reply and to do the work you have asked about. My email is provided by Google Workspace, which stores it on my behalf.
I keep work correspondence for as long as it is needed for the work, for my accounts, and for the professional records I am expected to keep. You can ask me to delete anything that isn't needed for those purposes.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask to see the information I hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to how it is used, and ask for a copy to take elsewhere. Ask me at [email protected] and I will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how I have handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
Changes to this page
If what this site does changes — a new tool, a new way of counting visits — this page will be updated before that change goes live. Last updated 15 October 2026.
